If you type in “Trader Joe’s Pizza” in the TikTok search bar, you will find hundreds of creative variations of this trending flatbread pizza that will have you captivated. After seeing it dominate my FYP, I of course decided to get in on the trend by adding my own little clever spin!
My Shrimp Flatbread Pizza makes several modifications to the original trending recipe in order to tailor it to my personal dietary restrictions and preferences. I encourage you to read this post in full and then make whatever modifications suit you. 🙂
What I think you’ll enjoy most about this recipe is how ridiculously easy it is to make. It comes together in minutes and is a lighter version that still packs plenty of flavor.
HOW TO SERVE THIS SHRIMP FLATBREAD PIZZA
I enjoy recipes that are super versatile and can be prepared for a variety of different occasions, and this is definitely one of those recipes. You can opt to make one individual flatbread pizza for a solo Self-Care Night. Pair it with your favorite glass of wine, put on your favorite movie, and just vibe out solo for the evening.
Additionally, this flatbread pizza recipe can be a fun date night activity idea! You can get creative by adding more topping options and customizing your individual pizzas before playing date night games. This Blackberry Coconut Mojito Recipe is a great cocktail option to serve along with these pizzas for the evening.
This recipe is also totally kid-friendly. Let the kids get in on the fun by allowing them to help build their own pizzas. It is the perfect activity for a family bonding night.
SHRIMP FLATBREAD PIZZA FULL INGREDIENT LIST
Now let’s talk ingredients. As I previously mentioned, I made several modifications to the original trending flatbread pizza recipe to suit my own preferences:
- PROTEIN MODIFICATION: I swapped the Spicy Salami for Argentina Red Shrimp as my protein choice. Don’t worry, this swap does not reduce the robust flavor in the recipe.
- CRUST MODIFICATION: Instead of pizza dough, I used Trader Joe’s Lavash Flatbread as the crust. I made this swap because it makes the pizza much lighter without compromising the taste.
Here is the full ingredient list for my take on this viral flatbread pizza:
- Lavash Flat Bread
- Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread Dip
- Trader Joe’s Italian Bomba Hot Pepper Sauce
- Parmesan, Romano & Asiago Cheese Blend
- Fresh Mini Mozzarella Balls
- Raw Argentina Red Shrimp
- Roasted Red Bell Pepper***
- Arugula
- Balsamic Glaze
- Hot Honey
- Cajun seasoning
- Garlic Powder
- Black Pepper
You can find all of the above ingredients for this shrimp flatbread pizza at one of my (obviously) favorite places to grocery shop, Trader Joe’s.
***I roasted my own red bell peppers, but you can alternatively buy a jar of roasted red peppers to cut down on prep time. Roasting red peppers is painlessly easy in my opinion, and I walk you through the exact steps of how to do so in the recipe section of this blog post.
You can go from the photo on the left to the photo on the right in about half an hour or so. Super easy!

FLATBREAD PIZZA INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTION SUGGESTIONS
Only you know what ingredients work for you. I have a few suggestions that might help get your wheels turning on how to make this flatbread pizza recipe your very own.
- Protein Substitution: As I stated above, the viral pizza recipe uses Spicy Salami as the protein choice, but I opted to use Wild Argentina Shrimp instead. You could easily swap the protein choice with pepperoni, grilled barbeque chicken, or artichokes.
- Pizza Sauce Substitution: The Italian Bomba Sauce used as the pizza sauce base in this recipe is spicy. I’d personally rate its spice level as a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. If spice isn’t your thing and you want to dial it down, just open for a plain marina sauce instead.
- Toppings Substitutions: You can skip the greens altogether and add some fresh grape tomatoes, anchovies, pineapples, jalapenos, or grilled onions. The possibilities are endless.
